We’re the ultimate wedding planning tool for couples who want to know that their wedding suppliers have taken the time to understand that the letters in LGBTQ + represent lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning people, not just same-sex couples.
We’re for people who want to know that their wedding suppliers understand that the + in LGBTQ+ includes a beautiful diverse group of people whose gender identity or sexual orientation goes beyond the heteronormative wedding industry (and world) that we’re working hard to change, for the better.
Why do we want to change it? Because it’s simply not catering (enough) to every person who’s planning their dream day. It’s ice-cream without jelly, tea without biscuits, and Pride without a rainbow. That’s where we come in. Taaa daaaa!
Our wedding suppliers, (you’ll find them on The List) are committed to learning about, and promoting, diversity and inclusivity and they have, or soon will have, worked with us to keep their business language inclusive and representative. We share insight and knowledge with our suppliers, with a little help from Nova Reid. Nova is an inspiring diversity advocate and consultant and wedding industry expert and is the author of multi-awarding winning wedding blog, Nu Bride.
Our wedding suppliers have adopted our hashtag - #youdontneedtoaskhere because, YOU DON’T NEED TO ASK, “do you do gay weddings?” HERE, and you shouldn’t have to ask it anywhere. We’re all here to create sensational straight weddings, gay weddings, big weddings, small weddings, budget weddings, luxury weddings and everything in-between. We’re here to celebrate you and your identity!
We’ve even created a set of awesome Core Values and we (and our suppliers) pledge to embrace them in all that we do. Click here to check them out.
So that’s us, now over to you! Whether you’re LGBTQ+, a straight ally or simply a person who truly believes that LOVE is LOVE, then we want to help you plan your big day and we’ve put together some perks and discounts for you too. Take a look around and give us a shout if you need anything else; we’re here for you and we’ve saved the best for last:
A huge congratulations to you, the nearlyweds, from the LGBTQ equality weddings team, our wedding supplier members, and our cat Coco. Don’t be shy, come and say hello.
Important - We recommend our wedding suppliers members from an equality perspective only and do not recommend the quality of their products and/or services (because we haven’t tried them). We are extremely confident however that you will be treated equally by our members and we can shout from the rooftops that they’ve gone considerably further than just saying they’re open and inclusive. They’ve worked with us to share insight and knowledge into all things equality and they’re committed to promoting this within the wedding industry and the world. They’re pretty awesome. Nevertheless, we recommend doing your own due diligence as to all things non-equality related and we do not accept any responsibility or liability whatsoever arising from your instruction of any wedding supplier member referred to on this website or in our E-Book. If you have any concerns about any wedding supplier on this website, please contact us using the email icon in the footer below. Your experience is important to us.
